Biography


MARTIN VAN TREUREN  most recently was featured in PARADISE FOUND directed by Hal Prince and Susan Stroman at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London.  He has appeared on  Broadway in DR.SEUSS'  HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, JEKYLL & HYDE (also on HBO), A CHRISTMAS CAROL, ME AND MY GIRL, and  SINGIN'  IN THE RAIN.   His recent Regional credits include playing  Old Max in DR. SEUSS'  HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS at the Old Globe in San Diego and Merlyn and King Pellinore in CAMELOT at Pennsyvania Centre Stage.  He made his New York City Opera debut as Voltaire/Dr. Pangloss in CANDIDE.  Off-Broadway he played both Ruth and The Major General in the highly acclaimed production of  THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (at NYC's Seaport) as well as BLESSING IN DISGUISE, THE MISER, ANYONE CAN WHISTLE (Concert at Carnegie Hall),  ALLEGRO (City Center Encores) and  The Barrow Group's productions of UNCLE VANYA, SONNETS FOR AN OLD CENTURY and MEDAL OF HONOR RAG.  He has toured nationally and internationally in, JEKYLL & HYDE (pre-B'way),  JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT starring Jon Secada, GRAND HOTEL directed by Tommy Tune and CAMELOT starring Richard Harris.  Original cast recordings of JEKYLL & HYDE, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, and ANYONE CAN WHISTLE at Carnegie Hall.  TV: LAW & ORDER SVU.
